[Each week, Gamasutra rounds up the titles released for the major console and portable digital delivery services, as compiled by console digital editor Ryan Langley, including the latest XBLA and PSN games and 3DS, DSiWare and WiiWare downloadables.] This week is a bit of a mixed bag -- nothing much that stands out above the rest. Each storefront has something interesting but nothing entirely shocking. We do have some unique games though, like MLB Bobbleheads on Xbox Live Arcade, and the classic QIX and Fortified Zone on 3DS Virtual Console. Have a look through it all, you might enjoy something! Xbox Live Arcade Update Three new titles this week on Xbox Live Arcade, all three in completely different genres, too, and ones we haven't seen pop up in a while. The first title is Deadliest Warrior: Legends, available for 800MSP. It's the sequel to last year's surprise hit fighting game, allowing you to pit history's greatest warriors against each other, including Alexander the Great, Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, Hannibal, Hernan Cortes, Shaka Zulu, Sun Tzu, Vlad the Impaler and William Wallace -- all named mercenaries this time, unlike the first game dealing with "Ninja" and "Pirate". The second release is Dead Block for 800MSP, a new zombie defense-style game. It seems that it only has offline cooperative play, unfortunately. The final new release is MLB Bobblehead Pros, a unique take on baseball in which you play as little bobble-head caricatures of your favorite players. This week's Deals Of The Week include:Torchlight (Was 1200MSP, now 800MSP) and TNT Racers (was 800MSP, now 400MSP). PlayStation Store (North America)
A very empty week for the North American PlayStation Store, but there are still some... interesting titles, to say the least. This week leads with two new PSOne Imports -- Rapid Angel ($5.99), a bizarre little platformer; and Yakiniku Bugyou ($5.99), which is some sort of bizarre restaurant simulation game. We also have one English title, a downloadable version of PlayStation Move Ape Escape ($19.99) We also have two new pieces of DLC -- Ghostbusters: Sanctum Of Slime Challenge Pack ($1.99) and the Tales From Space: About A Blob: Co-Operative Map Pack ($1.49). And finally, a new PSP Minis -- Ninjamurai ($1.99) PlayStation Store (Europe)
Catch up week for Europe! This week is headlined by Sega Rally Online Arcade, the classic rally racer for £5.10/€6.49. Alongside it includes Eat Them! for £7.99/€9.99, PomPom Games' Alien Zombie Mega Death for £5.10/€6.49 and Spelunker HD for £7.99/€9.99. On the side of retail games coming to PSN, we can now add Red Faction: Armageddon (£57.99/€69.99) and Tom Clancy's G.R.A.W 2 (£15.99/€19.99) to the list. We have a new PSOne Classic this week too -- Gex: Deep Cover Gecko (£7.99/€9.99), the third in the classic 3D platforming game, and one new PSP minis -- Cohort Chess (£1.99/€2.49) Nintendo eShop (North America)
The 3DS Virtual Console has received two new titles this week, both reasonably unknown titles to today's gamer. The first is Fortified Zone, a game that mixes Contra, Metal Gear and Zelda together, which is kind of cool. You can grab it for $2.99. The other title is QIX, a classic Taito title now available for $2.99. There are four new DSiWare releases this week, also available on the 3DS store, which include Jewel Keepers: Easter Island for 500 Points, Make Up & Style for 500 Points, Roller Angels for 500 Points, and Farm Frenzy for 500 Points. Lastly, we have one new WiiWare title -- Just Jam: Live Music Maker for 800 Points. Nintendo eShop (Europe)
We've got some pretty neat games out on the European Nintendo storefront this week. The 3DS Virtual Console has updated with two new Gameboy titles -- the first being Fortified Zone, a game that mixes Contra, Metal Gear and Zelda together, which is kind of cool. You can grab it for €3 / £2.70. The other title is QIX, a classic Taito title now available for €3 / £2.70. Alongside those two are two new DSiWare titles -- Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp, the classic FMV game for 800 Points; and Puzzle Fever for 500 Points. Lastly, a new WiiWare title -- ANIMA: Ark of Sinners, which actually looks quite awesome. This one came out of nowhere, sort of a Castlevania style action game based on the trailer. Maybe it's worth a look.
