THQ Holding Recruitment Days For Laid Off Staff

THQ is set to hold a number of open days for recruiters next week in the UK, in the hope of finding employers for its recently laid off staff. Earlier in the week, the publisher confirmed that it was in the process of closing UK-based developer Digital Warrington, as well as Homefront developer Kaos Studios, as part of a "strategic realignment." Over 45 people were employed at THQ's Digital Warrington studio, according to the company's website. The studio was founded in 2003 as Juice Games and best known for the Juiced series of racing titles before being acquired by THQ in 2006. The recruitment days are set for June 20-21 in Warrington. "THQ would welcome representatives from studios/developers who would be interested in talking to the effected employees about job opportunities within the industry," the publisher said in an invite obtained by GamesIndustry.biz [registration required].
