TOM CLANCY’S RAINBOW SIX SIEGE Arrives On Xbox Series X|S And PS5 With Free Next-Gen Upgrade

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege released today for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Boosted by the improved console hardware, the next-gen version of Ubisoft's competitive, tactical shooter is playable in up to 4K and 120 FPS with render scaling.

Those who already own Rainbow Six Siege on Xbox One or PS4 are eligible to upgrade to the next-gen version at no additional cost. However, the next-gen console must be in the same family of devices. Additionally, Rainbow Six Siege features cross-progression and cross-play, so you won't lose any progress as long as you stay within the same family of consoles.

Arriving alongside the next-gen version is Operation Neon Dawn, the final season of Year 5. The new season brings Aruni, a brand-new Operator equipped with an original gadget called the Surya Gate. Deployable on walls, hatches, doors, and windows, these laser gates damage attackers and zap drones and projectiles.

Aruni is immediately playable for those who own the Year 5 Pass. For those who don't own the pass, she can be unlocked with Renown or R6 credits beginning December 8. With the new season also comes a new Battle Pass filled with 100 tiers of cosmetic rewards that can be earned through February 22. The Skyscraper map has also been reimagined with three major objectives.
