Twitch announced today that it would be integrating its popular web broadcasting service with Mojang's Minecraft. In a presentation at Florida's MineCon, the video livestreaming website -- which serves as an increasingly popular destination for competitive game streaming and which will feature on next-gen consoles -- said that it would be bringing broadcasting functionality to PC and Mac versions of Minecraft. The integration will allow players to stream directly to their Twitch channels through the game. "Minecraft has struck a very powerful chord with the Twitch community," said Twitch's VP of marketing, Matthew DiPietro, in conjunction with the announcement. "Expect a watershed moment for both players and spectators once the ability to easily broadcast [Minecraft]'s gameplay directly to Twitch goes live." No specific date was provided, but a statement from Twitch indicated the feature would be live "soon."
