Ubisoft has announced the acquisition of mobile game developer Future Games of London, the studio behind the successful free-to-play Hungry Shark franchise. The Hungry Shark IP has seen over 25 million users by 2011, and its most recent iteration, Hungry Shark Evolution, has seen over 30 million downloads since its launch in early September. "We are thrilled to join Ubisoft and are looking forward to leveraging its scale, experience and support to expand our brands," said Ian Harper, managing director of Future Games of London, in conjunction with the announcement. Previously, Ubisoft announced a $370 million investment spread over seven years in the Quebec province, with much of that money geared toward online infrastructure and monetization.
