Translation service Transfluent is partnering with Unity to incorporate out-of-the-box localization services for developers. The new plugin, which will launch August 20th, will allow developers to take advantage of cloud-based translation services to localize as they make a game. Transfluent sees it as a means by which to incorporate localization QA testing from the development stage, meaning games can launch simultaneously in multiple markets -- a boon to devs with an eye toward distributing their games worldwide within a small window. Obviously, machinic translation has its drawbacks, but Transfluent's social media outfit has some proven successes and boasts "a team of 15,000+ professional live translators." Even if the cloud-based plugin for Unity is more automated, using it together with localization QA could dramatically cut down on localization time in the long run. You can learn more about Transfluent from the product website.
