Valve's Gabe Newell inducted into AIAS Hall Of Fame

Gabe Newell, co-founder of Half Life and Steam house Valve, has been announced as the seventeenth inductee into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame. The AIAS Hall of Fame celebrates those game creators who have been instrumental in moving a particular genre, platform or business forward. Previous inductees have included Epic's Tim Sweeney and BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk. Newell's part in paving the way for independent PC developers via the Steam digital distribution service played a huge role in his Hall of Fame selection. He will keynote the upcoming 2013 DICE Summit next year.
