Microsoft is expanding its Xbox Game Preview early-access program to Windows 10 PCs.

The first game to make use of Game Preview on PC will be Rockfish Games' space shooter, Everspace -- though there's no word on when the game will actually enter the program.

ID@Xbox chief Chris Charla first unveiled the Game Preview initiative at E3 2015, revealing a service similar to Steam's Early Access.

One key difference, however, is that every Xbox Game Preview title must offer a free demo.

"Every game in the program has a free trial, so you can play it and make an educated decision on whether you want to jump in early or see how development progresses," said Charla.

"This type of early access gaming is popular on PC, and we're excited to offer it to our gamers."
