Monolith Software surprised fans of the Xenoblade series by announcing that a remastered version of the Wii title was getting a remaster for the Nintendo Switch, which came in the form of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and was revealed to release at some point in 2020.
The announcement trailer gave us a pretty good idea of what the game will look like, and does a phenomenal job at getting people excited for its release, but it fails to give us a release window, although new information seems to suggest that it will be sooner than we think.
As revealed by Danish retailer Cool Shop, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is actually expected to hit store shelves on the 29th of May, which is actually a more-than-plausible release date for the critically acclaimed title; especially when considering that Nintendo doesn't have any major releases coming up.
According to Nintendo's official website for the game, however, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition still doesn't have an official release date, and is still slated as a 2020 release.
While this is definitely some exciting news — if true, of course — it would still be wise totake this new information with a grain of salt; chances are, however, that the date is right and Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will, indeed, release in a short 5 months from now.
