You can now play Super Mario 64 in first-person perspective

Ever wondered what Super Mario 64 FPS would have looked like? Well, time to find out. Talented modder ‘Kaze Emanuar’ has released a new interesting mode for the classic Nintendo 64 game, Super Mario 64. This mode allows players to experience this iconic Super Mario game in first-person perspective.

Now since this is a romhack, players will need the original game. The good news is that you can use an emulator to run this romhack and experience Super Mario 64 FPS on your PC system.

This romhack tries to simulate Mario’s head movement, though the implementation is not perfect. In Super Mario 64, geometry goes invisible when the camera is too close to the objects or the terrain. As such, sideflips and rollouts can be a horrible experience with this romhack.

On the other hand, it’s worth noting that players can also slightly adjust the camera angle for easier view.

Those interested can download the First Person Super Mario 64 mode from here.

Enjoy!
