Nintendo announced Metroid Prime 4 during the E3 in 2017, and it immediately became one of the most highly anticipated titles amongst fans of the series.
In January of 2019, however, Nintendo officially announced that the game was being delayed, and that Retro Studios would now be in charge of development.
Since the game was officially delayed in January of last year, the company has not shared any information about the state of Metroid Prime 4. Interestingly enough, all of the information we've gotten about the project comes from job applications posted on Retro Studios and Nintendo' official websites.
Today is no different, as the latest information that we have regarding Retro Studios' long-awaited, and highly anticipted Metroid Prime 4 comes in the form of a job application, although there is actually more to it than the ad itself.
In fact, it may be the most tangible piece of news that we have in regards to the game as a whole.

According to a job ad posted on Nintendo's official website, Retro Studios is searching for a Storyboard Artist to work in Metroid Prime 4. So far so good, but what's interesting about this is that the job description requires applicants to create storyboards for cinematics, as well as gameplay moments.
What's more, Retro Studios reveals that the Storyboard Artist's work will help "define emotional scenes that will resonate with audiences", thus confirming that Metroid Prime 4 will likely have an emphasis on story in ways that the Metroid Prime series hasn't seen before.
Metroid games, in general, have a sort of "show, don't tell" kind of approach when telling a story, as much of it comes from information that the player gathers throughout the game. Most of this information that players collect is actually optional, so it will be interesting to see Metroid Prime 4 actually featuring cinematic scenes, especially emotional ones.
