Pokémon: The First Movie released back in 1998 and was more traditionally animated in 2D. Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is a 3D CG remake of the classic movie that makes use of more modern techniques.
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution released back in July 2019 exclusively in Japan. However, the animated movie will be making its way over to the West on February 27th when it arrives on Netflix — that also just so happens to be Pokémon Day!
