Steam has passed over 36 million concurrent players

Last week, Steam hit 35 million concurrent players. And in just a week, Valve’s digital service was able to set yet another new record. Yep, Steam has passed over 36 million concurrent players.

To be more precise, Steam hit 36.354 million concurrent players. So, it’s not THAT close to the 37 million goal. At least for now.

What’s really ironic here is that I never imagined Steam would hit that record so soon. In my previous article, I was wondering whether it would be possible to hit 36 million concurrent players by Summer 2024. Heh, I was such a fool. Am I right?

It’s now interesting to take a look at the Top 20 Most Played Games in the last 24 hours and compare them with those we had last week.

As always, Counter-Strike 2 is the most played game, followed by DOTA 2 and Helldivers 2. Yep, Helldivers 2 has managed to gain two places and it’s now the third most-played game (at least in the last 24 hours).

PUBG: Battlegrounds and APEX Legends are in fourth and fifth place, respectively. In the sixth place, we find Tomb Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Rainbow Six Siege was in the seventeenth place last week, so that’s a huge increase. Baldur’s Gate 3 also gained three places. On the other hand, Palworld and GTA 5 lost four and two places, respectively.

And that is that. Let’s also place some bets. How long will it take for Steam to meet its 37 million goal? Will it happen this or next month?

Stay tuned for more!
