Coronavirus Outbreak Is Very Likely To Cause Shortages Of NINTENDO SWITCH Consoles In The Coming Months
Bloomberg reported this Monday that Nintendo is one of the companies that will likely be affected by the Coronavirus outbreak. This is maninly because production of Nintendo Switch consoles will be bottlenecked by the aggressive virus, according to Bloomberg's sources that claim to know about the company's supply chain.

If the sources are to be believed, Nintendo will not be able to meet consumer demands in U.S. and European markets as soon as April of this year, due to the fact that some of the console's components are being produced in China, and there is a shortage of said supplies; already affecting a Nintendo assembly partner based in Vietnam.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is Nintendo's first big launch of the year, becoming available on the 20th of March, and it is believed that the slowdown in Nintendo Switch component production will negatively impact sales.

Nintendo has already announced — just last week, in fact — that production of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition bundle, which includes an Animal Crossing-themed Switch console, had been delayed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

"We do not see any major impact on the shipment to the U.S. currently, but we will remain vigilant and take steps if necessary. It’s possible the supply would be affected by the virus if it becomes more widespread and prolonged," a Nintendo spokesperson told Bloomberg.
