Dino Crisis-inspired Code Violet uses PC gameplay footage for promotion, but it won’t come out on PC due to the fear of vulgar mods

A couple of days ago, TeamKill Media announced a Dino Crisis-inspired third-person action horror game, called Code Violet. And while its debut trailer used PC gameplay footage, the developer stated that the game won’t come out on PC.

In Code Violet, players will assume the role of Violet Sinclair. Violet is a girl plucked from the past who must unravel the mysteries of the Aion Bioengineering Complex as she avoids, hides or fights against the creatures who have overrun it. And yes, some of those creatures are dinosaurs.

TeamKill Media claimed that the game won’t come out on PC due to the fear of vulgar mods. Below you can find its official statement.

To be honest, this sounds like a PR stunt and nothing more. I mean, the first game from TeamKill Media came out on PC (and it has Mixed reviews on Steam). So, my guess is that the team is simply trying its best to gain the attention of most of the gaming media. And since we are writing a story about it, they succeeded. So kudos to you lads.

It’s also worth noting that this debut trailer is the definition of a false advertisement. The game won’t look anything like that on PS5 or PS5 Pro. I mean, it will look somehow similar, but it won’t be as scrip as this PC gameplay footage. So, the fact that the devs used the PC build to showcase the game without planning to release it on PC is a bit hypocritical, don’t you agree?

Anyway, I fully respect the team’s decision not to release Code Violet on PC. However, I’ll be holding them accountable. So, when – and if – they decide to announce a PC version, I will remind them how stupid and insincere they were.

From what I see, Code Violet has a cool art style. If I had to guess, I’d say that it uses Unreal Engine 5. At least that’s the vibes I got from it.

Stay tuned for more!

For those asking us about a PC version of Code Violet… the reason we are not bringing it to PC is we do not want anyone modding vulgar versions of the main character as well as other characters in the game.

We hold our voice actresses and actors with high regard, as well as our…
