Extended gameplay footage for Dying Light 2 to be shown on August 26th

Techland has announced that will present an extended gameplay video for Dying Light on August 26th. Since Gamescom 2019 ends on August 24th, I’m pretty sure that this will be the demo that Techland will showcase during this gaming show.

Dying Light 2 is a game I’m really looking forward to. The game promises to combine the much loved Dying Light DNA with completely new ways to play. For the first time in the franchise, players will have the power to decide the fate of a decaying metropolis with their own choices and actions.

The game will be using the C-Engine, a new generation of Techland’s in-house technology. This engine was built with open-world action-adventure and action-RPG games in mind. The game also aims to bring to life a unique post-apocalyptic vision of the Modern Dark Ages.

It’s also worth noting that Dying Light 2 may support real-time ray tracing. Back in June 2019, Techland’s lead game designer Tymon Smektala claimed that the team is working with both NVIDIA and AMD in order to implement real-time ray tracing effects in Dying Light 2. Techland is currently experimenting with this tech so it’s still unknown when – and if – the game will support it.
