Fire & Frost has revealed the PC system requirements for its new RPG, Of Ash and Steel. Of Ash and Steel is an immersive third-person open-world RPG that will be using Unreal Engine 4. So, let’s see what PC system you’ll need to run it.
Of Ash and Steel will let players explore the lands of a once-prosperous island. They will also hone their combat skills, and survive in the unforgiving realm of the Kingdom of the Seven.
Players will learn to stand up for themselves using different combat stances, environments, and active skills. They will tailor their fighting style to suit them, from the agile rapier wielder to a heavy armour-clad knight. Or, they can create something unique,
To play it, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i5 10600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT.
The devs recommend using an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 or AMD Radeon RX 6700.
Right now, a Closed Playtest is running for this game. Since I’ve tried it, I can share some of my thoughts. The good news is that at Native 4K, the game seems to run with really high framerates on an NVIDIA RTX 5090. The bad news is that I experienced numerous stutters. These appeared to be shader compilation stutters. So, let’s hope that the devs will add a shader preloading step in the final build.
There is currently no ETA on when Of Ash and Steel will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
