In separate announcements on Thursday, mobile game developers Rovio Games and ZeptoLabs said their chart-topping games hit new sales milestones on Apple's App Store. Rovio announced that its fowl-slinging game Angry Birds has now sold 10 million units on the App Store. The game, released in December 2009, is available for iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad in regular and Halloween-themed variants. Earlier this week, Rovio announced that Angry Birds Halloween for iPhone/iPod and iPad sold 1 million units in just six days. Angry Birds and Angry Birds Halloween sell for 99 cents on the App Store, while Angry Birds HD and Angry Birds Halloween HD for iPad sell for $4.99 and $1.99, respectively. Including free and paid downloads from the App Store, Android platform, Palm WebOS, Symbian^3 and the Nokia N900, Angry Birds has been downloaded 30 million times, Rovio said. The free ad-supported Android version of the game moved 2 million units in its first few days of availability. ZeptoLabs also said that its puzzle game Cut the Rope, released October 5, has sold 2 million units on the App Store. The game, like the original Angry Birds, was published by Chillingo, which was recently acquired by Electronic Arts. Chillingo said Cut the Rope is the "fastest-selling" title on the App Store to date, having hit 1 million units within 10 days of launch. The game sells for 99 cents on iPhone/iPod Touch, and Cut the Rope HD goes for $1.99 for iPad. Efim Voinov, CTO of ZeptoLab said in a statement, "Now with their acquisition by EA, we see more growth opportunities available for us in the future."
