Silicon Knights lays off more staff in wake of failed lawsuit

Newsbrief: In the wake of its lost court case against Epic Games, Canadian video game developer Silicon Knights has been forced to lay off "a small number of people." The studio had previously accused Epic of failing to provide a functional version of Unreal Engine 3 for development of the 2008 Xbox 360 game Too Human. Epic won the court case last month on all counts, and was awarded damages totaling $4.45 million. Although specific headcount numbers were not given in CVG's report, the studio had "just under 40" staff prior to the cut, after cutting 45 employees back in October.
