Zynga acquires Oregon-based Buzz Monkey - report

Newsbrief: Social games company Zynga has acquired Oregon-based developer Buzz Monkey along with its approximately 50 staffers, according to media reports. The social giant is converting the studio into Zynga offices, according to TechCrunch, although no more details regarding the deal have been divulged. Gamasutra has contacted Zynga for comment. Buzz Monkey, formed in 2001 by four former Dynamix employees, is best known for developing ports Wii and PS2 ports of the Tomb Raider games, including Legend, Anniversary and Underworld. It most recently released an iOS game called Rinth Island.
