6waves Lolapps Makes Mobile Debut

Social developer and publisher 6waves Lolapps entered the mobile realm this week with the launch of Yeti Town (pictured) and Splode, both free-to-play iOS titles developed by the Dallas-based Escalation Studios, reports Inside Mobile Apps. With the release of these two games, the company has begun to make good on its previously announced plans to expand its publishing efforts into the mobile space. In September, the company revealed that it was looking to push beyond social network gaming with a $10 million fund for both social and mobile game developers. As of press time, 6waves Lolapps has not revealed whether Escalation Studios received any money from this fund. Earlier in the year, when Lolapps announced its merger with Chinese publisher 6waves, the companies combined their development and publishing efforts, forming a company that both creates new games and works with other teams to bring their products to market. Currently, the company operates major Facebook titles like Ravenskye City and Ravenwood Fair, and publishes third party games like Mystery Manor and Airport City. The company also acquired the Flash-based Fliso engine in June, which the company says it uses to fuel internal development and to assist publishing partners.
