Call of Duty: Modern Warfare may be a reboot of the popular subseries of the same name but it also brings some cool, new stuff to the table. Arguably, the most well-received addition that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has introduced to the long-running first-person shooter franchise is a multiplayer mode by the name of Gunfight.
This mode allows teams of two to go up against each other on a selection of very small maps. The interesting twist is that players don't get to choose their loadout but rather everybody on the field is outfitted with the same gear. However, that's just the traditional Gunfight mode.
There's currently a variation active called Gunfight OSP in which players must scramble around the map to find weaponary. While this variation of the mode certainly isn't awful, players have been clamouring for the regular version to return whilst it has been active. Thankfully, a game designer by the name of David Mickner recently confirmed that Gunfight-proper will be returning soon.
The developer also teased something mysterious and new that many believe will turn out to be more Gunfight variants. Earlier this month, developer Joe Cecot revealed that they're working on 1v1 and 3v3 versions of Gunfight — so, it could be those that Mickner is referring to.

Normal Gunfight will be back soon, but I'll use this as ammunition to keep it around the next time we run a limited time mode variation of it ;)

The schedule was already in place to put it back a set time after OSP went in. Trust me, I prefer normal myself, and there's also <redacted> coming up to.
