Newsbrief: Continuing a trend of Chinese companies adopting the engine, Shenzhen-based online game developer and operator Tencent has licensed Crytek's CryEngine3 for its next online PC title. This marks the eighth Chinese licensee for the CryEngine line, among them major player ChangYou. Crytek has a history of working with Tencent, as the operator has signed on to publish the developer's free-to-play first-person shooter Warface in China. Tencent's Interactive Entertainment Service division, which licensed the technology, has published a number of titles in China, including Journey to the Fairyland, Dungeon & Fighter and many others. The company also holds a majority stake in League of Legends developer Riot Games.
