Major social game maker Crowdstar today announced two of its most popular titles are available on Yahoo's new Japanese social gaming network Mobage. Happy Island and Happy Aquarium, which have a combined 22 million monthly players between them on Facebook, both launched today alongside the official launch of the new Japanese social gaming site, which has been in beta testing since September 21st and which Yahoo operates in conjunction with DeNA. Both games have previously appeared on other Japanese social networks, and represent the first wave of a promise by Crowdstar to bring all its titles to the country. "CrowdStar has its foot on the gas -- we're aggressively scaling the company to build on all the momentum we gained this summer," Crowdtstar CEO Niren Hiro said in a statement. "We have the management team and the infrastructure in place to successfully expand our production capacity, drive dozens of new merchandising programs that delight our customers and increase our yields, and expand CrowdStar's footprint around the world, especially in Japan. We're prepared to go to the next level." Earlier today, Sega announced the Mobage network would soon see the release of Shenmue City, the first title in the cult hit series in over eight years. Over the last month Crowdstar has surpassed Playfish and Electronic Arts to become the second largest social game publisher on Facebook, as measured by monthly active users across all titles. The company's 57 million regular players still trails well behind Zynga's 222 million players.
