DEATH STRANDING: Over 6,000 Negative Reviews Removed From Metacritic Overnight
Yesterday, Metacritic housed 9,335 negative reviews for Death Stranding. Today, Metacritic is home to only 2,906. Metacritic is an aggregator of reviews from across the web similar to Rotten Tomatoes. However, Metacritic is predominantly known for covering video games.

Similar to Rotten Tomatoes, controversial titles will often be subject to review-bombs. It seems that this is what happened in this case (via /r/Games). Metacritic's supposed reasoning for the removal of such a hefty amount of reviews is that many of them appeared to have been very low-effort and copy-pasted — a callsign of review bombs.

However, as the negative reviews for Death Stranding piled on. Many supported the game by awarding it with positive reviews — in order to counteract the review-bombing. Metacritic may have taken action against the sudden surge in negative reviews but they didn't do anything about the recent positive ones. Thus, Death Stranding's user score is now higher than ever.

8,446  positive reviews, 526 mixed reviews, and 2,906 negative reviews has amounted in Death Stranding's Metacritic user score sitting at 7.4. Previously, the game's user score steadily sat at 6.2 and the review-bombing dragged it down to 5.4. You can check out Death Stranding's Metacritic page here.
