Demiurge Goes Digital With Shoot Many Robots

Demiurge Studios has announced Shoot Many Robots, the studio's first fully owned project since it was founded in 2002. Until now, Demiurge has focused primarily on lending its development resources to other studios and IPs. The Cambridge, Massachusetts developer has contributed to a number of high profile franchises, including Borderlands, Rock Band, Mass Effect, and Brothers in Arms. The downloadable Shoot Many Robots marks the first game to be owned and developed entirely by the company. Demiurge has released limited details regarding the nature of their newly announced project, noting only that the game will support cooperative multiplayer and, as the title suggests, will pit players against robotic enemies. A teaser for the project is available on the game's official website. Platforms and pricing have yet to be announced, though Demiurge say they plan to release the game via digital distribution on consoles in 2011. Demiurge spoke to Gamasutra earlier this year, and expressed interest in moving from existing franchises to new IPs. “We’ve worked on a ton of amazing projects over the last few years, but we knew it was finally time to bring our own original creation to life,” said Albert Reed, co-founder and studio director at Demiurge Studios.
