Nintendo Reveals Wii Remote Plus For Japan, Mario Red Wii

Nintendo is set to release its Wii Remote Plus controller in Japan on November 11, according to an official company announcement. The Wii Remote Plus combines a Wiimote with the Wii Motion Plus attachment into a single device, the same size as the original controller. The new controller will debut at ¥3,800 ($46), the same price as the current iteration of the Wii Remote and will be available in white, black, blue, pink and red variations. Nintendo has yet to announce plans to release the special edition Wii or the Wii Remote Plus outside of Japan. The controller will also be bundled with a 'Mario Red' version of its Wii console on November 11 in Japan to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. The console, dubbed Super Mario 25th Anniversary Edition, will retail for ¥20,000 ($240) and comes preloaded with a special version of the original Super Mario Bros. game. A screenshot featured on the product's official site shows the coin boxes replaced with graphics showing "25". it is unknown whether this will be the only change to the game.
