NVIDIA GeForce 580.88 WHQL Driver Released, Optimized for Mafia: The Old Country

NVIDIA has released a new driver for its GPUs. The GeForce 580.88 WHQL driver will make Mafia: The Old Country run really well on your PC. It is also ideal for the new DLSS 4 update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Plus, it adds support for 62 more G-Sync monitors.

NVIDIA has shared some news about older graphics cards. After one last Game Ready Driver update in October 2025, GeForce GPUs using Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta tech will only get security updates every few months until October 2028. That means these GPUs will be supported for up to 11 years, which is longer than most! Also, NVIDIA will keep making Game Ready Drivers for all GeForce RTX GPUs on Windows 10 until October 2026, one year after Windows 10’s end-of-life.

The NVIDIA GeForce 580.88 WHQL driver also comes with some bug fixes. For example, this update fixes a bug that made Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered run slower. It also removes weird graphic glitches in World of Warcraft when Ray Tracing is turned on. Cyberpunk 2077 now has fewer small stutters when using VSYNC. Starcraft Remastered won’t have any more graphic bugs. And Battlefield 2042 won’t have flickering issues anymore.

And that’s not all. This new driver should also make some games more stable than before. Such games are CONTROL, EA Sports FC 25, and Dirt 5. Plus, 32-bit games will no longer crash when using the DXVK translation layer.

As always, you can download this new driver from NVIDIA’s official website. Below, you can also find its complete changelog. So, be sure to check it out.

Enjoy!
