RUMOUR: Nintendo May Currently Be Working On Not One But Two New METROID Titles
According to the latest rumour doing the rounds, it seems that Nintendo may not only be working on the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4, but also on two brand-new Metroid titles; one in the same vein of the classic 2D games that kickstarted the iconic franchise, and Metroid Prime Trilogy.

In December of last year, there was a rumour that claimed Nintendo was working on an HD remaster of the Nintendo Wii's Metroid Prime Trilogy; a rumour that resurfaced in January of this year and was brought back in April, although nothing really materialised from said rumours.

The fact that rumours of a Metroid Prime Trilogy HD remaster were beginning to surface, made even more sense after Nitnendo officially revealed that the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4 was being delayed; as Retro Studios was revealed to be back to develop this new entry in the series.

If this new information does turn out to be true, fans of the Metroid series should expect to get the long-requested Metroid Prime Trilogy HD remaster, a new 2D Metroid that is probably a remake of a previously existing title, and Metroid Prime 4; all releasing for the Nintendo Switch.

Again, if the rumour was to be believed, this new 2D Metroid would actually be a remake of the classic Super Metroid that released for the Super Nintendo all the way back in 1995, and fans should expect Nintendo to do something similar to what they did with the Nintendo 3DS remake of Metroid II: Return of Samus.

Now, all we have to do is just keep our fingers crossed and hope for Nintendo to reveal some official information on any of these alleged titles; either that or, at the very least, an update on the development of Metroid Prime 4.
