Sid Meier’s Civilization VII releases in February 2025, gets first gameplay trailer

2K Games and Firaxis Games have revealed that Sid Meier’s Civilization VII will be released on February 11th, 2025. Moreover, the teams shared the game’s first gameplay trailer which you can find below.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is a 4X strategy game developed by the legendary team at Firaxis Games, developers of the Civilization and XCOM franchises.

In this game, you will rule as one of many legendary leaders from throughout history. Establish your civilization, construct cities and architectural wonders to expand your territory, conquer or cooperate with rival civilizations in pursuit of prosperity, and explore the far reaches of the unknown world.

Earlier this month, Firaxis revealed that Civ 7 will not be using the 2K launcher. Not only that, but the devs have confirmed that you won’t need a 2K account for offline play. For online play, though, you’ll need to use a 2K account. Still, it’s at least good to know that the game won’t force you to create a 2K account. Hear that Sony?
