SOE Launches Facebook Game With EverQuest II Interaction

Sony Online Entertainment announced the alpha launch of its fifth Facebook game Fortune League, a casual strategy title that allows players to earn rewards for its client-based MMORPG EverQuest II. Fortune League features the lore and themes of EverQuest II, challenging players to assess different quests, form appropriate parties from a selection of heroes to complete the quests, and earn points based on their performance. Players will be able to compare their points against others in their chosen league, and earn cosmetic upgrades and prizes (e.g. XP potions, spell scrolls) that can be used in both the free-to-play and subscription versions of EverQuest II. SOE's San Diego studio worked on the project with Los Angeles-based Fastpoint Games. Last September, it released a similar Treasure Trader app for Free Realms, which allowed Facebook users to earn rewards in the PC game. The publisher's previous Facebook game releases include Wildlife Refuge, The Agency: Covert Ops, PoxNora, and most recently James Patterson: Catch a Killer.
