The Battlefield 6 Open Beta is live, but you likely won’t be able to play due to EXTREMELY long server queues

The Early Access for Battlefield 6’s Open Beta has been launched, and it appears that most who got access to it won’t be able to play. Right now, there is an extremely long server queue. I’m not exaggerating here. The server queue is over 230K.

While writing this article, I had the game running in the background. You know, just to see where I’d be after finishing it. The article took me around 20 minutes to write. So, what was the place I was after 20 minutes? Well, I was over 100K. This means that I’ll have to wait for over 30 minutes before I can play a match. What’s funny here is that if, for whatever reason, your PC crashes, you’ll have to wait an extra 30 minutes to get back to the game.

And look, this isn’t the first time I’ve seen a server queue. But I don’t remember anything like that. And this is the Early Access phase of the Open Beta. What will happen on August 9th when the beta is available to everyone? Will we see a server queue over 500K?

The good news for EA and DICE is that the game will sell like hotcakes. As I said, I’ve never seen such a server queue in any game. Even Diablo 4 did not suffer from anything like this. And again, this is the Early Access phase. I can’t imagine what will happen this Saturday.

Battlefield 6 requires Secure Boot State on PC. So, make sure to turn it on. You won’t get to a server queue if you haven’t enabled it. From what I could see, the game won’t even launch unless Secure Boot is enabled in your BIOS.

BF6 will support AMD FSR 3, Intel XeSS 2.0, and NVIDIA DLSS 4. Yesterday, AMD released a new driver for its graphics cards. This driver did not add support for AMD FSR 4.0 for BF6. So, I guess the game uses AMD FSR 3.0 and not FSR 3.1. On the NVIDIA side, we know that there will be support for DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Gen. So, those with an RTX-50 series will be able to use it.

I wanted to share my initial PC performance impressions with the NVIDIA RTX 4090 and the RTX 5080. Sadly, I won’t be switching any GPUs due to this long server queue. So, fingers crossed, I’ll be able to capture a gameplay video and share my PC performance impressions later today.
