Newsbrief: AbleGamers Foundation has selected BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic for its 2011 "Accessible Mainstream Game of the Year" award, recognizing the MMORPG's efforts to provide extensive accessibility options for disabled gamers. The advocacy group for disabled gamers said it's rare to see a game of SWTOR's caliber provide so many accessibility features. Launched a month ago, the Electronic Arts-published game offers a colorblind-friendly mode, full subtitles, and control options for players with mobility impairments. Previous winners that AbleGamers has selected for the annual award include Dragon Age: Origins (another BioWare-developed title), Forza Motorsport 3 (Turn 10 Studios), and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (Mythic Entertainment, now a subsidiary of BioWare).
