The STALKER/Metro-inspired, narrative-focused horror indie FPS Shadow Project will receive a PC demo on August 9th

Orphic Studios has announced that a PC demo for Shadow Project will be released on August 9th. Shadow Project is a new narrative-focused horror indie FPS that draws inspiration from the METRO and STALKER games.

The PC demo will pack an hour of gameplay. According to the devs, it will have full optimization and UX. So, in theory, it should give us a good idea of how the full game will run. Or at least that’s what the devs imply. Plus, it will come with six full tracks from its OST.

Shadow Project is set during the Cold War, when the USA and the Soviet Union were in a tense standoff. In the game, you’ll sneak into Soviet land to stop a secret experiment. The levels are designed to feel real and full of detail. You can search every area for supplies and choose how you want to play – fight enemies head-on, sneak past them, or find hidden paths to get around.

Players will use real-life weapons from the Cold War era in many different battles. They’ll explore large, open areas and scary underground tunnels. They’ll also have to carefully manage their ammo and supplies. Plus, they can add special parts to their weapons to change how they play the game.

Orphic Studios was planning to release Shadow Project in 2025. However, it has decided to delay it until 2026. Right now, there is no specific ETA on when it will come out. Still, it’s at least good that we’ll get to play its demo this year.
