UK video game industry trade group TIGA has announced the election of five new directors to its board, with the aim to "represent different segments of the games industry." The five places have been taken by Karl Hilton, managing director at Crytek UK; Mark Webley, co-founder and COO of Lionhead Studios; Georgina Mackenzie, founder of Toytek; Patrick O'Luanaigh, CEO at nDreams; and Chris Kempt, founder of Kempt. Dr. Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA, said of the elections, "Our vision is to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business... Our five new directors will help TIGA to achieve these objectives." "They represent different segments of the games industry, have a range of experiences and are highly ambitious to drive TIGA forward. We are delighted that Chris, Karl, Mark, Georgina and Patrick have been elected to the TIGA board." Crytek's Hilton said he is in full support of the group. "TIGA is the voice of the UK games industry in policy circles, providing strong and effective representation at the highest level," he noted. "I am pleased to be joining the TIGA board. Crytek UK intends to support TIGA’s continued growth and campaigning activities." Lionhead's Webley echoed Hilton's sentiments, saying, "TIGA plays a crucial role in representing the industry in political and media circles and it also plays an important role in strengthening links between industry and education." "It is important that all in-house studios join TIGA and actively back its campaign to advance the cause of the UK games industry."
