Microtransactions firm PlaySpan signed an agreement with Ubisoft that will see its virtual goods monetization platform integrated into a number of the publisher's online games across multiple platforms worldwide. Ubisoft has already implemented the platform into its recently launched browser-based MMO Might & Magic: Heroes Kingdoms. The company says that working with PlaySpan's products enables its teams to concentrate on developing games instead of worrying about "complex international payment requirements". PlaySpan's digital goods platform is designed to deliver "Monetization on Demand" through its suite of offer management and reporting tools. It also supports UltimatePay, the company's service providing more than 85 international payment methods, such as credit card, mobile, PayPal, Ultimate Game Card, and more. Over 1,000 online games, virtual worlds, and social networks have used PlaySpan's monetization solutions. This announcement follows a day after the company unveiled its Monetization-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, which combines seven layers of monetization features into a single online payment service. "PlaySpan is extremely excited to partner with Ubisoft to achieve its international online and digital goods objectives," says PlaySpan CEO Karl Mehta. "Our sophisticated ecommerce platform, analytical report suite, and the industry’s largest and most experienced digital goods monetization team will help Ubisoft ensure success."
