We Sing Series Reaches 1M Worldwide Sales

Nordic Games' Wii-based karaoke series We Sing has now reached 1 million worldwide sales, the company revealed at an event for its newest release, We Sing UK Hits. "Whilst these figures may not be in the same league as Modern Warfare 3, we're nonetheless extremely proud of them," Nordic Games' sales and marketing director Nik Blower said at the event, as quoted by MCV. Since its late 2009 European release release, the We Sing series has seen a number of follow ups focused on German, Australian and British songs, as well as a branded version for pop star Robbie Williams. At this year's E3, the company announced plans to bring the series to the U.S. with We Sing America and We Sing Pop, which will also be release in established European markets. The karaoke game market has remained relatively robust since it effectively started with Harmonix's PS2-era Karaoke Revolution series. Since then, the genre has seen titles from Sony's popular SingStar series and iNiS' Xbox 360 title Lips to Disney's Sing It sing-along series and the hip-hop inspired Def Jam Rapstar.
