Xbox Live entertainment app usage up 50% in December

Newsbrief: Microsoft has revealed that the number of people worldwide using entertainment apps via Xbox Live increased by nearly 50 percent month-over-month in December. Xbox Live's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb said on his blog that this was as a result of the Xbox dashboard overhaul which was put in place at the start of December, and aimed to make "entertainment experiences more social and personal than ever." He also said that the hours of video watched by Xbox users globally increased by 140 percent in 2011 compared to 2010, while December saw more than 60 percent of U.S. Xbox Live Gold subscribers using entertainment apps on the service.
